Necessary items for wearing a yukata
The minimum requirements for putting on a yukata are shown below. Accessories such as a himo cord and a date-jime (a band that goes around your chest to hold the yukata in place) are available in a variety of shapes and materials, so you can select them according to your needs or tastes.

Make sure you have everything you need before putting on your yukata.
1. Obi
2. Date-jime (rubber types are also fine)
3. Two himo cords
4. Yukata

Padding your body shape for wearing a yukata, and wearing undergarments
Padding your body shape is not as important for wearing a yukata as it is for a kimono. However, if you wrap towels around your waist and hips the himo and obi will be more stable, making you look smarter. Most people don’t wear juban (underwear) under their yukata. But if you feel more comfortable wearing underwear, a camisole could be a substitute.
